Blooming Mississauga, Canada In vacant or in pensive mood, They flash upon that inward eye Which is the bliss of solitude; And then my heart with pleasure fills, And dances with the daffodils." - I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud - William Wordsworth We bought these bulbs of daffodils as a donation to an Canadian Cancer Society. It was like a toy that when initially given the usual cut on the stem and placed in water - it bloomed into perfect beauty in a couple of hours. It seems that it learns easily to adapt to its environment and when it does, it blooms so beautifully. ******* I didn't imagine, at this day and age, I'd be going back to school and learning a few new tricks. I did. I enrolled back to school. I didn't do it because it was where Kareem Abdul Jabbar went to, nor because it was still in the NCAA Final Four when I signed up, but I thought it had the best online experience for a course I wanted to take even as far back as 3 years ago. Yes, I'm going back to studying books and burning the midnight lamp - and I'm excited. At this age, getting excited about school is not easy. When I could relax on any free hour, probably sleep, I decided to read more, and instead of those flyers and newspapers, I will be reading a book or taking a test online. ******** Another UCLA alumnus, Bill Walton is also an inspiration. He is now a regular ESPN NBA analyst and commentator. But he had so much insecurity growing up, as he had stuttering problems. Of course, as winners would - they know that the only way to overcome a liability is to face the problem right in the eye. He solved it. So I'm starting my course in Project Management, as I am about to finish my own coaching on Vocal Imaging. My bad habits of "uhmmm, bale" are now gone. And yes, if you don't know it yet, I can now speak confidently in front of a crowd and feel good thereafter. Life is a life-long of learning, unlearning and re-learning. The daffodils learn their environment and adapt to it quickly. The birds know the seasons change and they migrate back to where their nests are. We too should not stop our quest for knowledge and quench the thirst for knowing something that interests us. I think I want to study how to become an astronaut too.
