Sometimes Pictures Are Enough - Last of 5 Series Mississauga, Ontario So it has come to an end, but only for this trip. Theirs will last til the 2nd of June. While those who are left, like me, Mitzi and mom will have the whole weekend to rest, and reminisce on the week that has passed. It's always bittersweet to have visitors like your own family. One week, you have your house bustling with activity, noise and a lot of laughter and joy. Then, sudden silence and quiet. Except for mom, preparing lunch, and a faint conversation on TV, the phone ringing, and birds chirping by the window sill, the house was utterly quiet the whole week. ********* So weekends are booked for the whole summer! Would you believe that? I needed to cancel a trip I recommended, that was to Charlotte (to have a Project Managers' Conference and maybe taste their burgers there with Charlotte-blogger-soon-to-be Houston, Meeyagirl) and some other errands - just for us to recover and prepare for more battle the next few weekends. ********* TV and More TV (That's the only noise we usually have at nights) We were able to catch some last episodes this week. Although empty as we missed out on previous episodes of Lost and Grey's Anatomy, it was made complete - no - not because of seeing Sanjaya in AI (although that was a good number with the Aerosmith guitar legend, Joe Perry), but of hearing Smokey Robinson and Gladys Knight. Those numbers in AI were a classic. The only letdown was So You Think You Can Dance, and the rather obnoxious behaviour of its co-producer Nigel Lythgoe, asking a mother-son not to be back for auditions - ever. It was uncalled for and totally rude. You can be nasty and not be "Paula Abdul" during auditions, but there's a fine line between thumbing down a person because of bad auditions and smashing a person's dreams in front of major TV. We swore after seeing the first episode, not to see the rest of the show ever. If he was being Simon Cowell, judge for American Idol which Lythgoe co-produces too, sorry but Cowell was a lot better in coming out to being sarcastic but never totally rude. As Ryan would say, I'd say it to Nigel. "Lythgoe out!" ********* Summer is Here - time to be outside We promise to do the following: o walk to Church as a physical exercise but also a spiritual one o cancell Sports channel cable package as NBA season is over - well, for me o spend more time outside - maybe do some gardening o drop 10 lbs which were stored from the last and rather long winter season o enjoy the summer with Mom - who decided to stay with us after the kiddos left << |
