Bikes on a Bikepost Etobicoke, Ontario If there is something that I've not done in the checklist for spring, aside from aspiring to (operative word is "aspire") lose weight, is to buy my bike. Time and time again, I promised myself to buy one. Every Monday, just like today, I realized another priority again railroaded the plan. I still have my money waiting to be turned into the pleasure of feeling the breeze of the wind, and the much-needed exercise to lose that not-so-much-needed fat. :( ******* When I mentioned that all the weekends for summer have been booked, I didn't realize that there were double-bookings one on top of the other. We still managed this past weekend to have been able to return some stash at IKEA, pick up food and a friend en route to a triple celebration in Scarborough. The event lasted the whole night through, thanks to the Blue Jays, whose game lasted for 13 innings. Needless to say, the night wont be complete with YES! Mags floating from one person to another and to watching Ruffa on ABS-CBN Now! for her confessions on her most recent divorce to her billionaire hubby, washing dirty linen on - "the Buzzz!". ******** Sunday started with a mid day mass then we proceeded to witness baptismal rites for Makayla (Mac and Anna's daughter) at St. Clair and Bathurst. This was followed by a grand buffet reception in Scarborough. We had barely enough time to dress up for the movie premiere of "Paraiso" but we still managed to arrive on time for dinner and some tete-a-tete with Pinoy big wigs. The movie was a nicely produced tear-jerker, rib-tickling and thought-provoking cinematic project for Gawad Kalinga. Highlight of the event was an after-movie meet up with Leah, who was so gracious enough to introduce me to her brother and sisters. What a happy family joined together to view a movie for a cause. I hope the film touches more lives in the future as it touched us. We plan to donate a house later this year ourselves! ******** The preceeding events explain why I still dont have a bike for summer :) You know I would love to lose this beer gut. I'm not one who wants to have a permanent floater or "salbabida" wrapped around my waist when I visit the beach this summer? Not me. << |
