Philippine Sunrise - composite triptych of Sunrise every 10 seconds Quezon City, Philippines But I'm on the next flight And the plane man says we can make it by night Can't wait to touch down in my own home town"- Amber, "Manila" Gen McArthur made good his promise of coming back. Michael Jordan, never said anything about coming back twice, nor Magic Johnson after close to 7 years after retirement, but people just love the thrill of coming and being back. I'm no exception. I'm back and I know now why I miss the place we all call "home". We arrived safely at 11:40 pm last Saturday and was whisked away and billeted in a midtown apartelle in downtown Cubao. With a perfect view of Montalban mountains, Eastwood and Ortigas, the rather 16 hours of travel was easily soothed. I couldn't help take a snapshot of my first sunrise coming home after 7 months and making a triptych of 4 snapshots in 10 second intervals. Yes, 7 months ago, I also saw the sunrise. That really wasn't that long ago. Now, back here in the bosoms of the motherland, the feeling is quite different stirring hopes and giving support to the youth and helping them in their own processing of their lives. This is the type of work Michele and I would love doing. Being around children, kids, the youth are so close to our hearts that we can only thank the Lord for giving us this opportunity to fulfill this dream. Yes, I'm back in the Philippines, back to where everything seems familiar, but now with a purpose. Coming home will never be the same again... wish my other half were here to see the dream come true. Here. Now. ******** First 48 hours - in slideshow here. << |
