Thanksgiving Day Woodbridge, Vaughn, Ontario Upon a day apart, To praise the Lord with feast and song In thankfulness of heart."~Arthur Guiterman, The First Thanksgiving There's no denying that one of the best people to thank for, outside of family and friends, are your friend's family :) So finally after 3 years, a hundred or so exchanged emails prior to our arrival in Toronto and through Memento's comment box, we got connected (physically). The kitchen had that mixed scent of sweet pumpkin pie and the buttery roast of turkey. The highlight of the night was not the turkey but the stories. The 6 degree of separation was now down to just 2. On one side, there was Sister-in-law friend who was our companion in Switzerland. On another was a big sister friend who is my virtual best friend (who can connect with me in a thousand different ways). So finally, Love and Bette we finally meet! ******* The Del Rosarios were very generous in opening their beautiful house to us. Wii even played We, or the other way around. So that's another first for me as I'm not a "gamer" (except in Scrabulous, hahaha). ******* Nintendo Wii is really a workout 'eh? But wait 'til they launch the Wii Workout Board - the board and software can be used for exercising, sports and games including yoga, virtual snowboarding, ski-jumping and aerobics to help users battle the bulge in their living rooms. Wow - perfect for me!!! Add to these are reports that the console has helped broaden the demographics of players, to now include the rest of the family. The corollary of the rubbing alcohol's battlecry from the 70s, Nintendo Wii is Hindi lang pang-isports, pang-pamilya pa! :) Nintendo Wii - you're making me a convert! << |
