Old and New Ottawa, Ontario May you trust God that you are exactly where you are meant to be. May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith. May you use those gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that has been given to you. May you be content knowing you are a child of God. Let His presence settle into your bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love. It is there for each and everyone of us. Amen." 10 months down, 2 to go! October flew by. 31 days all in all and I enjoyed every minute of it. The lobster can just clip my nose if I act like Pinocchio telling you that I was so hoping October 31 to arrive. Half of me wanted it to come, half of me wanted for the month to linger. First, I spent a lot of time enjoying our favorite season of the year. The first weekend was such a feast for the tummy, which merited some hiking the next day. That's what I learned early in life - to strike a good balance. Second, I enjoyed the time on the road sharing our GK Youth Build experiences, fishing for more men to the cause, in 3 major cities, Toronto, Boston and then Ottawa. I felt I could do volunteering as a full-time work. Hob-nobbing with Joey Albert is just a bonus :) Lastly, the very reason I was also counting down to October 31, no not just because of payday, Halloween nor the opening of NBA, but the first day of me being free from paid work for the first time in 3 years. Where will I get tomorrow's grocery money? What will I do the whole day? When will I go back to the saltmines? Everything is in the air... For now, as Mel Gibson shouted at the end of Braveheart, I say I now have, "Freedom!!!!" << |
