Pewters beside the Computer Mississauga, Ontario Two birds with one stone. That was what we did when we crossed the border of what was supposed to be a 3-part leg travel plans for the week. But as it stands, only the first leg will happen. Today, I was supposed to be in LA for a meeting and then fly to Manila to attend Lola Meding's 40th day and possibly more meetings. Of course, as my Doppler would show, I'm still in Canada, and I don't know if LA or Manila will even happen. God knows better. ******** So last Saturday, a quickly planned border crossing was supposed to be a half day soiree to Walden Galleria. Just for Mitzi to take a break from late nights and stressful work, on her end. You'd notice that I've never complained about work stress for the past 6 years :). And that is that. My only stress during trips like these is the 2-minute conversation with the border police :P Yet, we felt we needed time to also rest the soul and reconnect with our Lord and decided to cross early and visit for the first time the Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima. We never realized it was a mere 15-20 minutes from the US-Canada border and the experience of thanksgiving for our 16th year together, preparing for our birthday week and the Lenten season in this sanctuary became more meaningful. Here are pictures from the shrine. With this new plan, the trip to New York was made more meaningful (did I mention that after 2-hrs in the shrine and another 5-hours of malling, we needed a big hearty dinner...and yes, Cheesecake Factory is now a mere 1.5 hrs away from home :)). Indeed, God knows best! << |
