Palm Sunday Oakville, Ontario See, your king comes to you, righteous and having salvation, gentle and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey. I will take away the chariots from Ephraim and the war-horses from Jerusalem, and the battle bow will be broken. He will proclaim peace to the nations. His rule will extend from sea to sea and from the River to the ends of the earth." -Zechariah 9:9-10 It is Holy Week! Let's welcome the week with solemnity and piety and enjoy the resurrection on Sunday. ************ Yesterday at mass I was looking at the small kid seated in front of us. I was half distracted with the fact that she was trying to make a cross from her palm tree leaf while looking at us, copying the cross we have made from the same type of palm tree leaf...I would've wanted to help her as she was determined to do it and do it well, but in so doing, was missing the mass... Am sure, she's not a Memento reader, but just in case, here's the link on how to make Palm Crosses. ************ Ok. my take on the Pacman - JMM after watching the fight only this morning, I reckon that it another nail biter. I did believe (as some other Filipinos believe) that if the 3rd round knock down didn't happen, the fight would've easily won by Marquez. No doubt. He fought a better gameplan and was more prepared. After making the weigh in at 129 lbs., I don't understand how Pacquiao lost and gained back 16 pounds in a matter of a day :) It's just like me on a weekend that was full of activities and a night of gorging. Much like coming home to the Philippines for Christmas and then having diarrhea the next day after Noche Buena. ****** Speaking of weight loss - I'm back to fighting form - losing 8 lbs. (not overnight) because of work :) but might do a Pacquiao when I'm in the Philippines for Easter Monday. ******* It's St. Patrick's Day - not a green day at all in our household but a red-letter one as it is my wife's birthday. Just like every March 17th, I thank the Lord for today as it made possible for me to live my dreams with her being born. ******* The confusion as to what to celebrate? In case you're wearing green today, Well, St.Patrick's Day was moved back to Friday, at least for this year. Thus, retail stores are more confused as to what to stock up, green irish shamrocks and in 6 days, Easter bunnies. :( ******* Whatever it is, it is a day of celebration! << |
