Speechless Mississauga, Ontario I don't foresee me receiving any Oscar, Grammy, FAMAS, or definitely doing any Binibining Pilipinas Q&A. I don't see my number being retired by my favorite Laker team nor will I be honored for a Nobel prize. But just the same. I'm getting my cue cards, and here goes...(good thing there is no band to cut me after making a long speech)...and I have classy Jon Stewart to stop the show and call me back to make my speech in case I get played over by the band or cut by the TV telecast :) 1. For the Jr. in my Name Which means I'm carrying my dad's name? Not just that. But definitely for making me feel that I have a family legacy to live up to. I'm a junior, the next in line to a family known for its quirks, its different ways of showing their love, and of course - a family that I've been known to be proud of - no matter what! 2. For the 3 sets of fingers in both my hands Yeah, those three make me work well, get paid to be able to enjoy life and help others enjoy life too. Without those 3, I can only be a second rate, commercial model - highest paid for being the "Before" of people with acne problems, white falling hair or psoriasis behind the ear. :) 3. For Cold Pizza and Coke Without which, candlelight dinners will be so ordinary. And for the other food I love: for Pinoy Spaghetti, as it means that it's my birthday. For all the fatty foods, for me to realize that I'm no superman and I could have high cholesterol and HBP too. 4. For "default" That was what's written as your SSID. Whoever you are, your free internet for our first 3 weeks here in Canada was helpful in our nightly research for an apartment, a job and keeping in touch with our family and friends. For this, I'm inspired in opening up my Internet Wireless connection to all my neighbors and in your honor, instead of "hacker" am naming it "default" too. 5. For the TV If you were always exciting, I won't have reason to meet new friends, having intimate dinners, bowling, and just chilling; Thus, with friends here we've all enjoyed a "templated" life in Canada, that even if snowbanks are 10 foot high and that we shovel 3x a day just to make sure we don't get snowed in, we still have 4 seasons and have the great Niagara Falls on our side. Of course, if we get snowed in, there's always the TV to help up go through the day. 6. For our church Because it makes me realize that life is walked by faith and ran with our eyes fixed on the Lord. It also is a great refuge when you feel so much "noise" around you, caused by 1-5. Speaking of noise... 7. For my snoring Because I realize, and not because I doubted, how my wife loves me sooooooo much. It is much more than an evidence of love as cooking Pinoy Spaghetti on the eve of my birthday even after a long day drive from office, 80kms away. 8. For Superman My childhood idol. I wanted to be like him, solving all the problems of the world, doing this, doing that, until I realized I also have my kryptonite. I also have my weaknesses and frailties. Superman represented hope and justice, equality and perseverance. That even being born alien from another place, Krypton, wouldnt be a hindrance for him to be more human than most human beings. Now I realize, I idolize Superman, I have to wear some pants over my underwear. ******* This blog entry is an answer to a meme by memeya. Thanks Meeya for the tag! Tag. Tag.
