May 1 Musings Somewhere in Dundas, While Waiting All things seem possible in May.”Edwin Way Teale Alvinnnnnnn!!!!!! Darn you squirrels err chipmunks! Sorry Animal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Squirrels but damn 'em! Today I saw one of them run away with a piece of a stalk from our tulip plantation. Errr, or whatever's left of it. A husband and wife has been feasting on our tulips for days now and they haven't found solace in the fact that they were partly the cause why we will miss having bulbs grow on them this Spring. Yes, our tulips have all grown - not all of them, at least 3-4 were nipped in the bud literally by Alvin and wife. They have grown without the yellow and pink bulbs we wanted it to have :(. I will also talk to our bird-friendly neighbors later as I found out that their bird-feeds which is so near our garden are attracting this cute burrowing mutts. Ugh. I'm just looking for an alibi for not being able to see tulips in our garden this year. It could be the St. Francis of Assisi-bird-feeding ways of our neighbor, or plain ignorance of planting them on a portion of our garden where the sun is seen for a good 1 hour in a day. But I still don't like the idea that even without bulbs, a stop and go mutt will be carting away with every leaf we have. I hope he doesn't have his 2 front teeth this Christmas. ***************** Iron Man, Grand Theft Auto IV, or sleep? The answer for the question on what my weekend treat for myself is a resounding "none". First, I like Iron Man, but I want to see it using my defunct-collector's item HD-DVD Player. Secondly, I don't play video games, and violent video games at that. Lastly, sleep? sleep is overrated. Ho hum. It is first Friday and first Saturday of the month this weekend. Should be better off with a visit to the church and some gardening, maybe. ***************** Speaking of my Valentine-gift to myself, $ 125-HD DVD player, I just got the complete Harry Potter series at $ 12 per pop! Now I can watch them play quidditch in full HD. Imagine those HD's are worth less than its DVD counterpart which from last check are selling at $ 12.50 per disc. Got them from Future Shop in Dundas. Hahaha. I'm like the squirrel from our garden, enjoying even the last growing leaf of what seemingly is a dead machine. :) Bad analogy. Bye. April. Hello. May. ****************** 37 years. Yes, that's how long we've been in our Las Pinas home (uhm, our 3rd) - today. << |
