Fall is Here G. K. Chesterton There is something about the rain that makes me nostalgic. The smell of champorado, and the sound of the AM radio with intermittent static updating where the floods are present. I also miss the booming staccato voice of the radio announcer rattling off news if there will be classes the next day. There is something about droplets on window sills where one can blow hot air from the mouth and make drawings or write short poems. I miss doing those things. It's mid-September now, well almost. The rains have set and the cold weather has prompted us not to use the aircondition anymore. A lot of changes bringing us back to where we feel we belong. ************ If the lyrics of this poem are familiar, it is the song from the movie "Caregiver" (starring Sharon Cuneta). Read on. The song from Gary Granada and this one makes me think that anything in this world is possible. That at this mature age, that even in a place that has almost everything, where there is so much freedom, one can still be left wanting and one can still feel nostalgic. Anything indeed is possible. Including enjoying the rain. Enjoy the weekend. << |
