9:20 AM : Big Tree 9:25 AM: Preparing to paint the town with Fall Colors 9:45 AM: Our Bed and Breakfast 10 AM : Like A Child! Fall Watching : Morning of Day 2 Penn Yan to Keuka Lake, New York - Nathaniel Hawthorne Penn Yan is short for Pennsylvania Yankee. A quaint town at the tip of the Y-shaped Keuka lake. Obviously the first settlers were from Philadelphia. It is a mere 2 hrs 45 minutes from the border of Canada, or for our purpose, from the Niagara Falls, the only wonder of the world co-owned by 2 countries. Breakfast, consisting of pumpkin pancakes (yum), fritata, milk, and juice, was filling. It even lasted the whole morning. You know, Filipinos need that 10am merienda too :) We were up with a long schedule. In fact, that was the reason why this blog series was extended from 3 parts to 7 :) It was obvious from the pics and the slideshow later how wonderful the morning was and how blessed we were that we were in a place that had great autumnal views, warm residents, and several rows of vineyards and the best community of wine cellars around. The Phillies who first settled in Penn Yan did not make a mistake in living here. More of the morning of Day 2 here. ************* Talk about the Philadelphia Phillies - they will be in Baseball's Major League World Series - awaiting the winner of Boston vs. Tampa Bay. ************* My siblings and I are having a rare three-way Skype Chat from Cebu City, Las Pinas City and from my sofa here in Canada. Only if we were able to settle in a single beautiful place like Penn Yan, we can always chat the whole day - not online but face to face and sip wine from our decks and leave all cares behind. << |
