10:30 AM : Driving Down Downtown Penn Yan - Building is circa 1800s 10:45 AM : Penn Yan's version of the Lazy Boy : Proves to you how old the folks are here? 11:00 AM: On the Road Home 11:30 AM: Knowing the slumping US market, we wanted to Ask if the House by the Lake was for sale...hehehe Fall Watching : Morning of Day 2 Penn Yann to Skaneateles, New York - Nathaniel Hawthorne As the leaves were turning crimson and some falling down, we had to contend with a life truth that everything beautiful has its end. The much-needed break is now on its tailend. Hayyy, if only we can stay longer. And yes we did! We parked our car at 2 stops, first is Downtown Penn Yann and another stop near Geneva. We couldn't help not having to walk down near the lake. We even stopped for a while thinking whether the name of the town is really after the city close to our hearts - yes the Swiss city of Geneve. :) ********** Along the way, we stopped for coffee and whoa! they have our famous Canadian brand! Almost 200 kms away from the border and in the middle of nowhere there is that brown and deadleaf colored cup in my hand and me sipping away my favorite morning meal. Ahhh, am home. ********** Guess what the itinerary was for the rest of the afternoon? Lunch at Skaneateles and then - shopping. Outlet shopping to be exact. Guess we are ok for $ 350 each before paying taxes crossing the border. Hala sige! Here's the rest of the drive, back << |
