Good Health and Embracing Change Mississauga, Ontario In 30 minutes, I will be forty. I intentionally wrote the number forty in small caps. That means it just is an ordinary number. I always tell people that its not the number of years you have in life but the life you put into those number of years. So music from U2's new album is drowning the sound made by my keyboard. There is no one else in the house and I feel hungry. It's a good time to meditate and think of "halftime". But the growling of my tummy is getting loud in the 2 seconds in between the music of U2. I might cook for myself spaghetti, get barbecue and ice cream. Last Monday, we did our annual physical exams. Although there are clear manifestation of aging (aka wrinkles, drying skin and falling hair) my internals are ok. That's what the doctor said. I hope the blood works are also the same. Yesterday, on a very rare occasion, on the way to the showers I stopped to take a glance of myself in the mirror. Yes, am getting there. Bulging tummy. Yes, am getting old. Aching backs. Yes, am getting Forty. Wise. Sexy and full of wisdom. Yes, I'm FORTY. In all caps. ********* I have a mystery violin player who has been playing great music together with me for the past 17 years. Her dream was to learn a new instrument - preferably violin - before she turns 40. She has exactly a year. :) ********* Celebrating with Spaghetti and Ice Cream Celebrate with me with either ice cream, spaghetti or barbecue, 3 of my favorite food. Sooner or later, at a given point in time, I will decide, maybe to drop 2 of the 3 (maybe retain Barbecue?) from my menu or maybe just feast on all 3 during March 12 of every year. What do you think? Send me a pic of you eating any of the 3 and I will link them here :) UPDATES: (I will post your pics here all throughout the week) o My sister May, Rommel and Zia pose beside their ice cream and pasta for my birthday! Thank you! Celebrate with me as I turn FORTY!!!!! << |
