Tip Toeing for MJ Hollywood Star for a Real Star Hollywood Blvd, LA I used to glance beyond the stars Now I don't know where we are although I know we've drifted far What about yesterday What about the seas The heavens are falling down I can't even breathe What about the bleeding Earth Can't we feel its wounds What about nature's worth? It's our planet's womb."- Michael Jackson "Everyone's Taking Control Of Me /Seems That The World's / Got A Role For Me / I'm So Confused / Will You Show To Me / You'll Be There For Me / And Care Enough To Bear Me" So goes the last lines of my favorite Michael Jackson tune, "Will You Be There". MJ whose star shone brightest during my teenage years was the ultimate performer. His concerts were always sold out, even the latest ones scheduled in London which could've run this year. He sold more than 50 million albums throughout his career, won more than a dozen Grammy Awards, and recorded more than a dozen no.1 songs. But despite all of these, his star fell down as fast as it rose. Yesterday, MJ left us with no one beside him. No one was there for him. We honor him as we have used most of his music in videos most especially with GK Youth Build's invitation in 2008 (see the dates for 2008, not 2009). Now that we are on our way again to reach out to our poor brethren in the Philippines, its more than apt that we play the same invitation and listen to Michael Jackson as we honor the genius in him, his music, his lyrics, his star. Music starts at 00:18. Be There For Them! Come join us, let's build houses for our poor brothers, immerse and educate with the youth on August 4-11, 2009 at GK Saladmaster Village, Barrio Pototan, Iloilo and enjoy the abundant resources that Panay Island can offer, including 2 days in Boracay! Email us at gkyouthbuild@gmail.com. This was the same dream that Michael wanted to convey in most of his songs, as he once said, “In a world filled with hate, we must still dare to hope. In a world filled with anger, we must still dare to comfort. In a world filled with despair, we must still dare to dream. And in a world filled with distrust, we must still dare to believe.” Goodbye, Michael. Your star will always shine. << |
