From Cold Mississauga To Rainy Pasadena Weather Weather Lang Yan Mississauga to Los Angeles in 5 hrs The trek back home started last Friday as I left Canada at -7 degrees after attending Holy Mass in celebration of the Immaculate Conception to be in 24-degree oC LA in time for some company year-end dinner. A boarding pass which misinformed me to wait at Gate P almost made me miss my trip if not for some divine gentle nudge to re-check the screens. I got the hint as I saw myself alone at the gates after the rest of the people waiting with me left for another flight. I discovered that they changed the gates from P to C at the last minute, and I saw myself do a 100-meter dash between 12 gates, criss crossing holiday-rush passengers like me. ******** Los Angeles at this time of the year is pretty much like Toronto - 8 months ago. A mix of Spring with some bit of cold, but not freezing, and of Fall, with the leaves starting to say goodbye to give in to new ones in 3 months time. In short, I'm skipping winter in lieu of some nippy Cali weather in preparation for warm, muggy Manila in 5 days time. ******** Last year, I was with Mitzi enjoying the same weather and a great coffee break at the beach. ******** What's happening in the world - of ENTERTAINMENT : - LA Film Critics name Borat as Best Actor. :P - I was lucky to have seen "Little Miss Sunshine" as the on-flight entertainment and enjoyed every minute of it. It's one of the Top 10 films for 2006 according to AFI. Aha - with SCB (see above)'s Borat. AFI was the one who named "The 40-Year Old Virgin" as one of the Top 10 Best Movies of 2005, so naming "Borat" as part of 2006's list was no surprise. - 5 of the 10 2005 Best Films were the 5 nominees for Oscar Best Picture. So AFI must be doing something right. At the very least, I saw all 2005 Top 10 best films, while only 5 from this year's list. << |
